Everyone thinks they can fly a drone. It all looks so effortless and easy in movies and tutorials, until you smash into a tree, or the ground, or yourself that is.
The cost of a drone can be anywhere from a few hundred to well over a ten thousand (depending on the cameras and sensors onboard), and when a drone is damaged by water, collision, or user error the cost to repair or replace can sometimes be as much as the original unit itself. For public safety agencies with tight budgets this can ground the entire drone program.
That’s why DJI, the world’s leading consumer drone manufacturer, has just released DJI Enterprise Shield, a value-added service that allows public safety customers to rapidly repair or replace damaged hardware with units that are either new—or equivalent to—in reliability and performance.
DJI Enterprise Shield comes in two flavors:
Enterprise Basic Shield is the Happy Meal of coverage. It's affordable and will leave you satisfied. With Basic Shield you receive basic insurance coverage and servicing at ground speed. You are eligible for two full replacements and will only have to pay a nominal fee per replacement. Simple.
Enterprise Shield Plus comes with unlimited express replacement of hardware, with expedited overnight shipping of a replacement unit. All of the covered hardware shares a common pool of insurance coverage to distribute the risk.
Insurance is one of those things that you don't need until you need it, and though it comes with some cost most public safety agencies can't afford to not have it. DJI Enterprise Shield Basic and Plus offer you the financial security and peace of mind that comes with knowing that come water, tree, or collision with yourself, you'll be taken care of and back in the air in no time.
